Real & Synthetic Grass
Sod that takes, or turf that never needs watering
Both are good answers to different questions, and we will tell you honestly which one fits. Real sod is cheaper to install, feels and smells like a lawn, and repairs itself — but in Los Angeles it wants water every summer for the rest of its life, and it will not survive deep shade or a dog that runs the same line every day. Synthetic turf costs more up front and pays it back in water bills, stays green through August, and takes traffic that would kill sod — but it needs a compacted, free-draining base underneath or it will hold odour and go lumpy. Whichever way you go, the ground preparation is most of the job: strip, grade, amend or base, and only then lay.
Our Process
Free Estimate
We look at sun, shade, drainage, traffic, and pets — then tell you which of the two we would actually install here.
Strip & Grade
Old lawn and roots removed, levels set, and drainage checked. Laying anything over a bad grade just moves the problem.
Base or Amend
Aggregate base compacted for turf; soil amended and rolled for sod. Different jobs, same principle.
Lay & Finish
Turf seamed, nailed, and infilled, or sod laid tight and rolled — then irrigation checked over the whole area before we leave.
