Landscaping in Sierra Madre, CA
Landscaping in Sierra Madre, CA — hillside retaining walls, drainage, brush clearance, mature tree work, and complete yard builds against the foothills.
Sierra Madre is tucked right up against the foothills, and everything about the work here follows from that. Lots slope, water comes down off the mountain in a wet winter, and the canyon edges carry the brush load that makes clearance a fire-season necessity rather than a tidiness question.
Walls here are terraced wherever the grade allows, because two shorter walls with a planted step between them handle a slope better than one tall one and look considerably better doing it. Every one of them gets drain rock, a perforated line, and an outlet that actually goes somewhere. There is also a lot of mature tree work — canopy thinning, deadwood, and clearance from roofs and lines on trees that have been here longer than the houses.
